I recently had an issue where my beer barrel would not pressurise when I inserted a gas cylinder.
I found the cylinder was just getting an impression of the pin that is meant to pierce it. It turned out I need to replace the value.
£10 for a new valve, 17mm spanner and it was quickly replaced.
New cylinder in and all was fine. Saved buying a new barrel at £55.
